Cobblemon Delta extends the base creature-collection mod with Mega Evolution, raid encounters, dungeons and additional dimensions. Mega Evolution is the headline mechanic, introducing a temporary in-battle transformation that raises a creature's power for the duration of a fight. Its significance is strategic rather than numerical: because only one creature can use it per battle, team construction acquires a decision that ordinary battling lacks, and competitive line-ups have to be built around which member deserves the slot. Raids and dungeons supply cooperative content, which the base mod does not really provide. Creature collection is naturally solitary, and encounters requiring several players working together give a server a reason to develop a community rather than a set of individuals occupying the same map.
