Player Skin Lookup

The tool sends the username to Mojang's API to get the player's UUID, then requests that UUID's profile from Mojang's session server to find the URL of the skin texture. The avatar and body images are rendered from the UUID by Crafatar. Results are cached for about five minutes, so a skin that was just changed may take a few minutes to appear.

Yes. After a lookup, use Download Skin for the raw skin texture as a PNG, or Download Avatar for the avatar image. View Raw Skin opens the texture file from its source.

A UUID is the unique ID Mojang assigns to a Java Edition account. Usernames can be changed but the UUID stays with the account, which is why servers and plugins use it to identify players. The tool shows it in both the dashed form and the short form without dashes.

No. The lookup uses Mojang's Java Edition profile data, so it cannot find Bedrock gamertags, which are not Mojang usernames and can contain spaces. A Bedrock player who joins a Java server through Floodgate has a separate ID on that server, so the name will not match a Mojang account.

Mojang has no Java account with that exact username. Check the spelling, remember a name can be at most 16 letters, numbers or underscores, and note that names used only on offline-mode (cracked) servers do not exist in Mojang's database. If a name was changed recently, search for the new one.
