PureVanilla runs an unusually strict survival world: no teleporting, no ranks, no vote rewards and no mechanics beyond what the base game provides. The strictness is the entire point, and it is rarer than it sounds. Almost every server calling itself vanilla still adds home points, protection or ranks, because those remove real friction. Declining all of them restores properties the additions quietly destroy — distance means something when you have to walk it, a base location is a decision rather than a bookmark, and meeting another player is an event because it could not be arranged by command. Griefing purely to destroy is not permitted, which distinguishes this from anarchy servers. The rules are social rather than mechanical: nothing stops you technically, but the server is moderated on conduct. That middle position — vanilla mechanics with human moderation — is uncommon, and it is what makes long-term building viable without protection plugins. A separate economy world runs alongside for players wanting currency, claims and progression. The two are kept genuinely independent, so no economic features leak into the vanilla world, which is the only way the strict version survives contact with the convenient one.
