About DaisySMP
DaisySMP is a vanilla-leaning survival server open to both editions, presenting itself on the character of its community rather than on features. That is a more honest pitch than it might appear. A plain survival server has no ladder to climb, no premise to explain and no systems to master — which means the only thing distinguishing it from a hundred similar servers is who else is present and how they behave. Leading with that, rather than padding a feature list, at least describes the actual product accurately. Vanilla-style play keeps Minecraft's own mechanics as the substance. Progression comes from the game's own arc — first night, first iron, first trip to the Nether — rather than from ranks or currency layered over it. Players who have drifted through heavily modified networks and found the additions distracting often end up looking for exactly this. For a server of this kind, moderation quality is the entire proposition. Nothing mechanical prevents unpleasant behaviour on a plain survival world, so whether it remains pleasant depends on people paying attention and acting. A server making community its headline claim is implicitly promising that, and it is the thing to evaluate. Crossplay support puts both editions in one world, so a group split across PC, console and mobile does not have to negotiate platforms. daisysmp.net answers either client on a recent build, with the machines in North America and most conversation happening on Discord. The practical advice is to treat the Discord as the deciding factor. On a server whose appeal is social rather than mechanical, the conversation happening around it tells you far more than any description can — including this one. A quiet, thinly moderated community offers considerably less than an active one, and the difference is not visible from a listing page. The Discord is the honest preview of what the server is like.
