Minecraft 1.13, the Update Aquatic, completely transformed ocean gameplay with new underwater biomes, coral reefs, shipwrecks, underwater ruins, buried treasure, tridents, dolphins, turtles, drowned mobs, and the conduit power block.

Servers running 1.13 feature the beautiful ocean overhaul that made underwater exploration exciting for the first time. Tridents offer a unique weapon with enchantments like Riptide, Loyalty, and Channeling. Dolphins guide players to treasure, and conduits provide underwater breathing.

This update also brought the technical "Flattening" that restructured block IDs, which was a major change for server plugins. Many servers skipped 1.13 due to initial plugin compatibility issues, but those that run it offer a complete aquatic experience.
